Edit: 2018-02-18
The role is now covered thanks to the responses!
If anybody would like still like to come down to watch or to do some skiing - the ski paths in the park are open to the public, you don't need to be registered with the event to do some cross country skiing. There will be more people than normal out and, of course, additional amateur radio coverage in the area. Would be happy to see you, or even have a brief QSO on the repeater.

===============
Hello all, we are looking for one more amateur radio volunteer to support the 41st Foothills Nordic Ski Club Kananaskis Ski Marathon - aka the Cookie Race!
Everybody I've encountered at this event is happy to be there - there are lots of smiles from the participants and event volunteers alike. Come enjoy lots of cookies and even some soup while providing a service (communication across the entire course) that is highly valuable and even essential to the event.
This event is Saturday 24 February, 2018 located in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park from 08:30 to (approximately) 14:00. Ideal equipment for this position is a crossband capable mobile radio and a handheld. I can supply a crossband if you have a UHF capable handheld.
More information about the event itself on their website: https://foothillsnordic.ca/cookie-race/
