Well ..... one for 4 so far ....   I ordered one of those QYT 8900D four band jobbies here for $89 bucks USD and it was ordered Apr 11th and showed up today on Apr 26th .... that's not bad.  I'll get it going and let you guys know what an 89 dollar CCT radio is like.

    Hi Guys,

Apr 18/17 - Just an update on the orders ..... I now have 2 mics, the two UV-5R's en-route still for $12bucks, plus another single UV-5R for $9 bucks and I just ordered for sh*ts and giggles one of those QYT 7900D Quad bands for $90 bucks USD so we'll see ..... once they land I'll post a few pics with the receipts so you can see them!

I think the best part about the Baofeng radios is that they have a physical power switch. You can charge them up and leave them for a couple months without having to charge them - great for bug-out-bags/emergency kits, especially considering the price.

Yep, I couldn't help myself...... (you're a bad influence Dave!!!)

~$28CAD for 2 radios, programming cable and battery eliminators so that I can set these up as small portable devices using external power without the concern of cycling the batteries too much!!

Hummm,  So I got the receipt from eBay and Paypal saying it's all good as usual.  Then 3 hours later I get a note from eBay saying they removed the items from their site but that I'll still get mine !?!   Intrigue ..... ???

    Hi Folks,

At one of the General meetings here a while ago someone was talking about the CCT's we're all seeing.   (high tech code for cheap Chinese transceiver)

I actually have 3 Wouxun's that were all about a hundred bucks each and they've been fine and work really well, but because of the price point, I don't call those ones cheap.  (grin)   We'll go with cheap-ish .....

One day for amusement about  2 years ago I bid on a Baofeng UV-5R on Ebay and promptly forgot about it, that was till I won it, and then I got it for the huge cost of $29 bucks back then.

Since the meeting I thought well let's see ..... so today I bought another 2 of the same UV-5R's that are both brand new and with everything so we'll see if they land ...... this time for the massive price of $11.98 for both of them!  :-)

So, for that sort of cost ..... they are the kind of radio that when you lose one or it breaks, you don't cry as much.   If and when they land I'll let you know and bring one to the meeting and we can test and experiment with them for more "amusement"  .....

    Cheers'
    Dave
