    Hi Tino,  I just re-posted a better question .....  but to re-cap what I want to is take everything I've found on the web and gin it up in to a specific step-by-step how-to guide for newbies with a 857D and Signalink.   

    Right now I'm just stuck on ALC on this new radio and how to set the TX level on the Signalink.  

    I'd like to write it up from a newbies point of view and right now I'm sort of "stuck" on the initial setup of the TX level ALC and the radio.

    Do you have a regular email address I could contact you at?

    Hello Dave,

    I have operated the Signalink type of interface for many years with various radios (including the Yaesu FT-857D radio). Was there a specific question that you had?
