Step 1 completed
Step 2 completed ( funding coming from unallocated funds and Maintenance)
Step 3 connector was installed at general meeting workshop coax and another 10 feet of carrier pip was delivered to SAIT E501. The hands on work to assemble feed line and do prep for on site installation was completed.
- Step 4 on February 12th weather was not to bad and arrangements have been made to access the site we can do the install
Ladder line was installed during CARA SAIT activity in February.
16 meters of BELDEN 8214 COAX and an Anfenol connector have been purchased
All went well at SAIT April 12 2012
Ant VA6ANT, Robin VE6RBN, three of his students and I attached the Coax to the ladder line of the G54V.
The feed line was brought into the penthouse and the end is coiled up on top of the radio rack.
I connected my computer to the internet and was able to use TeamViewer to access the VE6AO IRB computer
Looks like we are good to go there as far a controlling the Flex is concerned.
We are behind the SAIT fire wall so as expected the W4MQ WebTrancever shows VE6AO IRB as off line.
When the Flex is ready we can contact Robin Greig ve6rbn
<robin.greig@calalta.com> and he will arrange to let you in during the week.
We will need to extend the network connection over to the radio rack. Robin has the tool required to make a custom CAT cable.
We will also need a simple rougher so the Pi / IRLP can have access to internet.
