Thanks to all chasers that I talked to today. The weather was not good and so I started early to avoid thunderstorm activity forecast for the afternoon. My cell Phone (Bell) was unreliable on the summit, so I could not self-spot, but fortunately W7RV in Arizona picked up my call on 20m and spotted me. I made 15 contacts, including the UK, before electrical activity (precipitation static) forced me to close activity on 20m.
Jack VE6CCM was able to send me a text message, and so I tried 2m, with just my handheld and an aftermarket whip, as I was too cold to assemble a directional antenna and reluctant to re-erect the pole. The path was marginal, I had to be right on the summit to contact Calgary, I made 5 contacts. Thanks to VE6CCM, VE6CGT, VE6WXQ, VA6FAB and VE6CCL. Regrets to VE6GO who was operating the club station. I could hear him, but I was unable to reach him.
I do have some pictures from the summit, but I am uncertain of the best way to post them on this site for people to see.
