    We should be OK then.

The ham from Fort Mac who wants to try this is going to send us plans for an inverted vee type antenna. In the mean time we may modify the 40 meter SLOPPER currently connected to TS2000.

Yes, your dial frequency should be 1.5kHz lower than the centre frequency (assuming USB operation; which is the mode according to regulation in Canada). Therefore dial 5403.5 in order to be on the channelized frequency of 5405.

The maximum bandwidth is 2.8khz, and maximum "effective radiated power"  ERP is  100watts. Therefore if you are intending to use a beam with gain, you will need to turn down the radio's TX output power to stay legal on this one.

Here is a good source document for additional particulars: http://wp.rac.ca/wp-content/uploads/files/pdf/60MOpsinfo_en.pdf

Also note that further changes to emission and power output could be coming as a result of the last WRC (world radio conference).

I have a request to do some testing on 60 meters

Need to setup a TS 2000

And wonder what frequency to use.  Is  5403.5. In band?  This is the default RCForb uses for the band.

Also may need to mod (open up) the tranceaver.

60 metres as of Jan 23 2014 is open for Canadian ham use. Check the Industry Canada or find the link from www.rac.ca for further details. i made my ffrst contact with VE5KC yesterday. There are 5 channels to use (USB or CW used mostly). Please note: for Yaesu users...some Hf gear has the wrong channel programmed in the 4th memory slot. Be careful and read up on what channels you should be using!  See you on 60!
