Robert, I would consider the $300 minimum price for the Drake R4C, but like to see it first before hand

Glad to see interest in the Drake R-4C receiver.

Rob asked Frank and I to test and make any repairs needed. I opened the case and cleaned out about 10 years of dust to find a nice working receiver from the early 70's. I calibrated the S Meter to -73dBm for S9. It's in nice condition and in addition to the stock setup it includes a 500Hz CW filter and 3 user installed crystals. The extra crystals cover 160m, 15Mhz WWV, and the CB band. Frank's repair skills were not needed as it was working well. Even still has the Drake tag on the power cord.

You can check eBay for sold prices they sell $350CND plus and often untested and without the extras this one includes. No smell of smoke either, just of warm tubes. Of course its close to 50 years old so it may take attention to keep it running but at least last week it was running well.

Rob's price of $300 as-is for a CARA member sounds like a deal, it would likely go quick for more on KWSWAP.
