The Calgary Amateur Radio Association assists many charities and non-profit groups with their events. CARA provides radio communications between venues, checkpoints, vehicles and organizers, providing improved command, control and safety. Some events could not be held without amateur radio to provide the communications.

The months of May and June are the busiest time of the year. All CARA members, and even non-members, are encouraged to help out. For most events, you only need a Basic licence and a handheld or mobile VHF radio. If you would like to help at an event, please contact with the coordinator for that event.

Not all the radio operations of these events listed below are organized by CARA. Those not organized under CARA auspices are listed because many CARA members have worked on those events in past years.
