9-10 AM: Introduction and orientation to the new Yaesu 144/430 digital repeater rack mount radio, of which CARA has installed many already.

10-11: Break to buy/sell fleas

11-12 noon: A session for novice HAM radio users on how repeater systems work and how to understand the many configurable settings on their handheld and mobile radios. We look at frequency pairs, offset value & direction, tones, power levels/range/desensing, plus mobile & handheld antenna types. Cross banding, a real boon to the foot mobility of a radio user, will also be examined.
